Re: MPC3004 Wifi connecting
Bit more info needed.
When you say connecting via wifi, are you using the SOP panel or the optional WIFI kit?
Turn on DHCP in interface settings & re-add the device.Let us eat, drink, and be merry, because tomorrow we may die!

Re: MPC3004 Wifi connecting
Using the SOP here. DHCP settings are on.
Next week getting a MPC3003 with an optional WIFI - kit.
So now testing it on an MPC3004 with SOP.
Is there a difference?

Re: MPC3004 Wifi connecting
Save your cash on the wifi kit..!!!
Buy a cheap wifi extender...connect the machine to it via ethernet cable and configure the extender for the customer's network.
There are literally DOZENS of threads at these forums asking the same question as you.
Maybe do a search in future eh?
It might help you avoid those red cards you seem to like hoardingComment

The 3rd party kits are a messy looking kit dangling from the copier & any issues you have to troubleshoot yourself.

Re: MPC3004 Wifi connecting
This all depends on your budget, personally I always go for the Ricoh wifi kit, yes its expensive but you get full support.

I haven't looked at Ricoh's interfaces lately but the last time I did they still only supported WEP even though the more secure WPA had been out for a number of years.Comment

Re: MPC3004 Wifi connecting
You need to get yourself up to date on what is available as far as access point hardware. Most current ones do not hang from the machine, they plug into the AC outlet. They are quick to setup with your laptop and if you add a 5 port work group switch you can connect other devices to the network. With the price of them you can afford to keep a spare in case one fails.

They support both WEP and WPA.Comment

Belkin,TP Link and others make these and they work as well as the wifi kits and are relatively cheap (around $40 AUD).
I've used them many times and setup is a breeze.
The added bonus is that, unlike the official kit, with a range extender the customer gets the benefit of it being...ummm....an extender.
Meaning the range of their wifi is vastly improved.Comment

Check his history, there are 2 things George will never do:
1: His own Research
2: Thank people for their efforts
Result: Red cards & ignore listComment
