I have a new fresh out of the box MP301, says cover is open, shows a pic of the right door open. Checked the front door switch and the right door switch, they are working good. Input check SP5803-27 shows the switchs working. 24 volts switch at CN114 when opening and closing doors.

I think I found the problem. There is a little microswitch at the top of the door. Looks like it got damaged in shipping. -

yip, those press switches are the worst quality. we have also received ones with the switches in pieces. replacing it is fun, as the cable is so short the the connector is almost flush with the frame where the switch fits in.
We normally try and catch the cable through a hole in the frame just below the switch, so when you disconnect the switch the cable tends to want to shoot back into the frame - when that happens the fun REALLY starts!

I got the switch replaced ok, that harness is short but do-able. I've been working on a lot of these MP301's and I never knew about that switch, I overlooked it and it cost me more time than it should have. Rookie mistake.Last edited by anothertech; 03-06-2019, 03:46 AM.Comment

When i get this machines i take back off and screw that holds scanner that is close to rt side door. I remove then where op panel is remove cover and remove two screws lift scanner a little up and open wire harness clip it not the first one it is inside a little further. then put back together. that way if breaks tech can pull out with no problem.Comment
