    MPC4503 power save

I am having 2 issues with the same MPC4503, after it goes into sleep mode it will not come out unless you power cycle the machine. It does not recognize putting a document in the feeder, lifting the feeder or pressing the Energy Saver button. It will not print in sleep mode either. The only way to use the machine is to turn it off and back on.

The other issue is I cannot get into SP mode. I looked for Service Lock Mode in user tools and cannot find it. I can get in using factory mode. I attached a copy of the firmware versions in the machine.

    Any help is greatly appreciated.

Some of your firmware is out of date update ALL the files not just package. The power fw should be on v 20.

If you can get in SP mode set SP5-191 to 0 this stops the controller from going to sleep (the machine will sleep as normal)

SP 5-191 the little 301 may not have this SP.

                Hi there!
Copier Tech is absolutly right. 1. update package, 2. update module! The newest version of power saving sys is D1495554E (vers. 20). After update this problem is gone.
                Greetings...

In Factory SP Mode, you can check SP-5081 to see what the SP Mode password is, and change it if you need to. I would STRONGLY recommend you make it the default PW for SP mode.

                      Set an SP mode password?

You can change the SP mode entry code i.e normally its the number sequence we all know and love, but you can choose to change it. But of course, unless every Tech knows what the new code is it can be annoying if you don't or have to ring around to find out.

Ouch, LOL make sure you don't try it on those Techs who dive into quick or you might have wiped Ricohs and annoyed customers
I know it's frowned upon to change by most Techs I know, but in some schools and so on it can be a must!!
