Definitely looks drum related, possibly a charge roller issue make sure it's making proper contact with the drum surface on both sides

Certainly looks like pcu issue........... those marks sure are unusual though. They say they just added toner but maybe there's something that the customer isn't telling me. We'll know more once we arrive and check it out.

Probably so. I can't see how just adding a toner cart would cause that. Those streaks are pretty wide.

My thoughts exactly............but a customer would never never never ever mislead their technician, right?

They kinda have a ring of looking like lost gummed label fragments don't they?

Yes, a lot like the adhesive strips/margins that stay on the page when you remove the labels from the sheet. But why only the Yellow PCU? How did the other drums avoid the label material if that's what happened. And the only toner that was replaced was the Yellow. But enough speculation on my part. I'll get back with you all after we get a tech's eyes on the issue.

maybe ask them to save the old cartridge and put it to the side.

Sometimes the "Add Toner" indication is a symptom, not a cause. For example, what if the yellow was massively over-toning and is sucking the cartridge dry? The developing unit may be so full of toner that it poofing out of every seam in the developing unit. Have a peek in the waste bottle: is it very full of yellow toner?

On Toshibas it's common to have a rear primary charge insulator break. When there's no yellow charge the machine entirely coats the primary transfer belt with yellow toner, depleting the developer in about 10 seconds. The customer calls for "Add Toner Yellow". The toner add system just can't add toner as fast as it's pouring out of the developing unit. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
                    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
                    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
                    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
                    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
                    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

Nope, much less complicated than that. The copier had labels stuck to and inside the Y PCU , the ITB cleaning assy , and adhesive on the metal reg roller. So it was nothing to do with the Y toner change after all. Cleaned it up as best we could. They will have to foot the bill for a Y drum and ITB cleaning unit if CQ issues persist.

Thanks guys, for all the replies. I'll be sure and return the favor.

P.S. funny how all that label material skipped the other 3 drums and only the Y drum took a hit though.
