    [Misc] Toners Ricoh mpc 4500, 4502, 3501 5501 5502

    Dear all.
I am a simple user who has a bunch of unmatched toners for MPC3501, for MPC5502 and MPC5501 and two printers MPC4500 and MPC4502 everything original and sealed new.

My question, and I have been looking arround the forums with no success, is if there is anywhere I can find a chart of compatibility for the toners (powder I mean).

I think toners 5502 are directly the ppropiate for mpc 4502, but aside from this.. no idea.

I know the "heads " are different dependng on the printer, but I think the bottles can be popped and interchanged. Somewhere I read that some of the tonners had some developer proportion inside and some did not. so not all were directly useable in all printers.

As I recognise my knowledge is short, I would like to be sure when interchanging "heads" so I avoid any damage to the printers.

I insit everything is original Ricoh, new and sealed.

    Thks for any leads supplied!

Try the current Product Support Guide for each model.

What's the point of this process?
You're just asking for trouble by trying to convert cartridges.
You apparently don't need many or most of the cartridges that you have. So keep the ones that are actually for your printer, sell the rest of them on Ebay, and use the money to buy more of what you actually need

        Hello Slimslob
First of all thks for your help. I understand this may help me in case I could directly use one in place of another one, but this is not the case as far as I know.

Not sure if there is any guide available where this may be easy to find. Nevertheless, I wil follow your indications and try ot find it, as it is obviously the easiest way.

But, for all those units which will not fit, and I think it will be most of them, interchanging the head may be interesting if I can avoid any risk of damaging any of the machines.

In any case, once again, thks for your interest and help

        Best regards

          Hello Sandmanmac.

          Thank you for your suggestion.

Point of the process is basically trying to be able to use them and not throw away (or resell at a fraction) erfectly good toner. I understand that at least for the toners, the "head" has no real function excet to channel de powder to the rest of the system. So if the toner itself is same all across the range, which is what I really do not know, then changing heads would be my shortest and easiest way to a reasonably big supply of toner for my machines and a very flexible way to deal with the model differences.

I cannot say I will not do as you say, but I would like to consider it as"plan B". But in case the toner itself cannot be used. I do not think it would be easy to sell then unless the price is very aggressive, so sale / purchase of replacements would clearly diminish my actual "stock" .

Your suggestion, is in any case, a much cleaner way to keep them going.

Of course I understand clearly that using "compatibles " is the sure way to get in trouble, so I completely discarded that option.

Thkyou very much for your interest and aswers to a non professionat "user"

          My best regards

The 5502 Toner is the correct toner for an Mp C4502. The rest are not. Do not try to use them. Generally Ricoh only changes toner cartridge types when the change the chemical composition of the toner inside.

So yeah maybe you can get them to fit in the machine but your risk ruining the developer. Not worth it. Just sell the ones you can't use.

I think I saw somewhere that the 02 developer was interchangeable with the 01 developer..
I would look for that but like said b4 its a crapshoot..
if you wanted try a black toner on one of your parts machines 1st..
i ran into this with mpc2800,mpc3501 black toner and swapped heads to get
a machine to run when i brought wrong toner

The only way to know if 2 or more toners or developers are identical is to look at the formula number on the box the cartridge came in or the bag the developer is in.

                    Hello Fshead.
Thks for suggestion, but taking a blind shot is not what I wished to do if the risk is ruining the machine. Not a reasonable risk / savings ratio.

I asked because you all seem to know everything about this machines, so if anybody knew... That was here I was to find!

Seems I will have to finally try to sell mine and buy proper ones!!

                    Thks again!

                      Thks again Slimslob.

I cannot find that info on the cartridges (at least I cannot see it)
                      The info in box is:
                      EDP code 842020 / 842052
                      lot number
and nothing else that I cna see....

So I will probably need to apply "plan B"

                      Thks to all !

The XX01 XX02 and XX03 toners all have different recipe codes. I checked the ones I have on hand here. It will be a three digit code inside a black box printed on the cardboard box the tubes come in. It will be next to the section where the components and CAS numbers are listed. I believe that is generally on the same box face where the instructions on changing the tubes are.

                          Hello Sturmtrooper.

I can only find a 3 digit code in abarcode at the oposite side from the type labeling
Please check picture attached WeChat Image_20190412154714.jpg

The codes horizontal are from the XX02 type (the 4 of tehm) the ones which show vertical would be the 3501 and 5501 .
So I think I have no clue.
                          Maybe different packaging in Spain.

Those are not recipe numbers. The recipe number is not a scan code. It is a number located in a black box.
