So You mean that - old, overtime or bad - developer could cause toner to build up on the exit stripper plate so damaging the sleeve.

Clean the exit stripper plate on all service calls and replace

Ricoh D144-4136 when changing sleeve.
After we started doing this the ripping stopped.

AI clean the stripper plate on all calls but why change the shutter?

They run about 2000 at most per month. It's an engineering firm. Mainly run 11X17 through it. I agree that copy count is where the meat is but the assembly is rated for 300K and the machine has 500K total on it. I think they were just rough on it...

Are they running some funky style paper,acetates etc and are they making the settings for paper weight..
I started wearing latex gloves when doing these sleeve fusers so my skin oil isnt an issue if i touch it.
Plus I dont unwrap sleeve till its in place.
