    MPC401 Trapeziod problem

1st.= I set erase margins to 0 in order to see the edge of the paper better. 2nd= I know side to side is off but they are straight! Problem happens when using the RADF or laying on the glass. I see no adjustment in the MPC401 manual like other service manuals where you adjust the fuser guide for Trapezoid. This is a major problem with this customer (Lawyer) because when they scan the originals and send them to the court house they look crooked and thus refuse them. And, when they are scanned the problem is exaggerated making them barely legible. The example is from my machine in the shop which is far better than the customers BTW. Thanks for any insight!!!

I suspect that the scanner frame may be bent, front leaning on the corner. Are internal prints and prints of electronic documents square? I suspect yes. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

Since there is no CIS on this one, you might have a mirror out of position, or a scanner problem.

Nevermind... Loosen the scanner screws on the side and moved it up 2mm. Problem solved. Thanks for your response!

Now tell the users to stop leaning on the machine or the problem will come back.

I always felt the adf hinges had way too much play and you can have it close in different locations depending
where you put pressure closing it..
