Setup Scan to FTP and be done with it.
It's non firmware dependent, and just works.

OR scan to email. That model doesn't support encryption so you'll have to choose a non-ssl configuration of some sort (there are many options), and and there is not a Firmware update that can change that either

My friend have only the access to tech resources of konika minolta printers
Trying to contact all printer support shops here locally (the printer not worth the exit of a technician outside my city...)

Contact all you want. MP C2800 is too old for Ricoh to ever make firmware for SMB v2/3. Sounds to me like an opportunity for your sales people to sell a new machine. Or an opportunity for a competitor.

I have not done this update to a copier at this time. I have them upgrade to a newer model.

Seem that an smb v2/v3 firmware exists...
The problem is obtaining it

It seems that you are an idiot. SMB v2/v3 DOES NOT EXIST for the MP C2800/MP C3300 and by now I doubt if Ricoh will write one. The following is the list of all product codes that SMB v2/v3 is available for. D023/D025 (MP C2800/MP C3300) is not on the list.

SMBv2/v3 support is now available for the following models: SMBv2/V3 support will be available for other models. The announcement will be issued separately.

Then see if copierman can give the firmware that will work. Only problem is that it won't work unless you are using LDAP authentication.

I am aware of that. In the future fully read and understand all documentation that comes with a firmware release so as not to make a fool of yourself. From the documentation contained in it. "The device uses the SMB1.0 only for authentication purpose even if the higher SMB protocols are available. SMB2.0/3.0 is used for delivering the document." and "The SMB version used for Windows authentication is SMBv1. Please use LDAP authentication instead as necessary." It is SMB1 authentication that Microsoft has recently blocked and disables again with every security update. SMB2.0/3.0 document delivery has been supported since the updates to support Windows 8 and Server 2012.

You are of course correct. I did not actually download and unpack it to read any accompanying notes. I honestly did not care that much as there are few of these left in the field in my area. You win.

A local ricoh support center told me that the mp c2800 firmware isn't downloadable anymore from the ricoh support site So, i'm stuck

He told me that he can't download anymore the updates

I've asked for details, he told me that ricoh nearly 6 month ago have changed the site, and on the new one he can't find the firmware for this model.
By now, i think that i leave as is, with some modules not updated, and use it....
