By tech we mean a trained and qualified Ricoh tech. If you were such, you would know how to load firmware updates. As davel said, if the machine does not have a print/scan SD card, it will not print. Print/Scan SD card is not a firmware update. It is an option that you have to purchase and install.Comment

Re: MP 8000 can not printed.
Firmware update procedure is included in the manual.
You should obtain a copy of the service manual.
Hire a qualified ricoh tech and maybe, you will learn from him how to deal with this problem.Aye! Cut the crapComment

From memory...
I believe the size of the 2GB SD card might not read on some of the older model Ricoh machines.
Try a smaller SD card, say 512Mb, and format it to FAT32.
Reinstall all the firmware onto the 512Mb SD card, and try the F/W update again.

Another option is MiniTool Partition Wizard. It not only does a good job of formatting but also allows you to create a 1GB or 512MB SD card from a larger card. Handy when you have an older model that will not accept 2GB or larger cards.Comment

Re: MP 8000 can not printed.
For some reason, most older models will not recognize an SD card formatted using Microsoft Windows format utility. Ricoh recommends that when you format an SD card, use the Panasonic SD card format utility. The following link is from TSRC Utilities. It does not mention Windows 8, 8.1 and 10 because the page was written before they came out. SD/SDHC/SDXC Memory Card Download | SD Memory Card | Digital AV | Support | Panasonic Global
