I find using Web Interface logged in as Admin does the job.

Or use an SD card to back up and restore.

We have noticed that sometimes it does not backup the addresses form older machines to new ones.
      Even not with SD card...

This is the method I normally use. I also like to train at least one person with the customer how to do so and instruct them to so anytime there have been any changes to the address book. First time you have a machine crash a HDD and lose their address book you will understand why.

easy way is web monitor / address book under maintenance . after you swap copier added it to new copier. If it doesn't work you still have old one at location to get information with the sd card.

This is the method we use also. Make sure to use an encryption code or not everything will transfer.

SD card in slot 2, user tools in admin features, backup and restore. Have transferred hundreds of times.

After using many methods for aver 15 years, this is now my preferred method. I keep a small like 50 mb sd card in the tool bag that came from an old machine, might have had java or something on it. I initially reformatted the card on my laptop. Works like a charm.

On older machines, I use the web image monitor. Sometimes, the formatting is different, so I get the basic info into the new machine and then show the customer how to modify the address book, and as was mentioned, and how to back it up.

And now with the IMC range you can also backup machine settings to a .csv file for safe keeping.
We're using this feature when we have to run up multiple machines for the same account.

With previous models there was a utility available to convert the backup file made through WIM into a .csv. This allowed you to import the address book into LAN Fax.

We still do that as well Slim...mostly when we have to populate Papercut.
The Device settings import/export appears to be a new feature for the IMC range.
                            Works well so far.
