MP C4503 Ghosting only happens with black toner. Card Stock paper The fuser temp is turned all the way up. It was working on thick 3 but now you have to use thick 4 to keep it from happening. Afraid soon thick 4 won't work. We have ordered a new developer box for a separate image quality issue and this may take care of it. Using OEM toner. Any thoughts?

Re: MP C4503 Ghosting
What is the life of the fuser? I have noticed over the years new fusers can easily fuse toner onto say 120gsm paper on the plain paper setting but over time it starts to ghost and you change is to middle thick, then thick...
Obviously the correct thing to do is set it as correct paper thickness on installation so that doesn't happen but they perform really well new then just progressively get worse nearer the end of its life. -
Re: MP C4503 Ghosting
I had a similar problem on one of these machines when the customer was using thick paper. It ended up being the fuser. Make sure you use all OEM parts. The girl in our office accidently got some aftermarket parts when the fuser needed to be rebuilt. After replacing the parts that is when the machine started having issues.Comment

Re: MP C4503 Ghosting
CopierTech: Isn't the life of a fuser 400k on the MPC4503 range, because it has the setting for replace fuser unit at 415k and stops working at 430k?
Saying that I still think it is fuser any way because 265k is high enough that it is no longer at peak performance and so won't fuser unless a high thickness is setComment

Re: MP C4503 Ghosting
400k is probably for 80g paper with fairly low coverage with in a certain time frame with the fusing temperature set to default. How long the runs were how often the device was warmed up to ready (even if no prints made)Comment
