    Aficio 1022/1027 PCU

May we have some opinion for Aficio 1022/27 regarding the PCU - usually what do they change in it and usually what gets damaged on it? Is it repairable?

Because if you are familiar with Aficio200/250 - the PCU's gear gets easily damage including the shaft where you put the gear, its located beside the development sleeve, and once this happens even if you change the gears the problem goes back and you really need to replace the whole PCU.

1022/1027 are much better than 200/250,pcu gears are stronger and we re built the pcu twice, and works fine ,polygonal motor has problems "cause these machines are old but is not expensive, fusing unit has no secrets ,is symple,we still have several of these rented and everything go fine

Thanks for the previous information on A1022/1027.
Can anyone share how many copies will a brand new PCU do and how
many copies it can make after repairing it? What parts do you usually
repair on the PCU and where can we get it?

        PCU yield

I think those model PCUs are 70k or 150k. But I am not sure which it is.

Rated at 60K but will go 80K+, then throw it away, you have had your moneys worth out of it!

If/when rebuilding these, make sure to replace the developer and mag roller gears. These will generally fail
after rebuild if not replaced. (Also make sure seals/bushings are good. Otherwise developer will leak into gears and destroy them shortly after rebuild.)

They made the later series 25-30 cpm machine PCUs rebuildable. But I have found that it is cheaper to just replace them with 22-27 PCUs, due to the gears in the dev/mag roller area not lasting much more than one 60-80k cycle.

              Regards

For your info - dev can used to 80k and drum 120k or 160k,if the quality of the dev is good it can drag to 160k.you must monitor on mag roller gear and lower dev unit have 3 gear if harden change the lower unit with gear only.

If I understand correctly, you are asking if you can use a 1027 PCU in a 250/300 copier?
I hate to say it, but yes you can.. I've done it a couple of times before Ricoh put a stop to the tech being able to order the PCU's.
If you are able to get your hands on the 1027 PCU, then you can replace them...

You can repair the T1027PCU but I think that's not really cost-effective. The OPC is the same like BO39-9510 and the developer is type 19.

Most problems are score- and arc marks or dirty background because of ricoh's crappy toner recycling. PM yield is rated with 60k and that's usually a reasonable value. I got units running over 100k but the customer wasn't really demanding regarding copy quality and that was like the printout looked like^^
