    [Misc] Ricoh 3004 EXSP booklets

    Hi,

One of our sales guy sold a Ricoh MPC3004 EXSP with booklet maker. Works perfectly on Windows. However the customer has a Mac, with OS Sierra. When the customer tries to make a booklet with the Mac, there is no option in the Ricoh driver to select a cover sheet with the booklet! Any ideas?

You might remind your sales person that Ricoh does have a sales support team to help with this type of problem. Actually, it is something that a good sales person should have researched in advance.

Does it have the PostScript option installed? (Not the emulation version)

Yes it is and yes it might. The 3004EXSP does come with an embedded PostScript emulator. As with most PostScript emulators it works fine for the average everyday jobs and it fails miserably on special jobs. To know if the booklet maker constitutes one of those special jobs, you would need to talk to the product manager. Not always an easy trick for service techs, actually it would be your regional support who would be doing the contacting and then only a few months of your documenting an ongoing service problem and request support. It is a lot easier for the sales team through Ricoh's sales support team.

The sales guy is busting your balls because he knows that his job, not yours, is on the line. Tell him that if he wants it resolved he, not you, needs to talk to Ricoh sales support and it is he, not you, that will need to talk to the customer if the PS3 option needs to be installed.

Oh, by booklet maker do you mean the Plockmatic Booklet Maker or are you talking about booklet finisher?
