Cleaned the laser slit glass, optics etc.
    Copies were STILL shocking.
Returned to the machine the next week(it's 2 hours from the workshop) and fitted a new lamp and SIO board...
A very slight improvement but still not as good as the print engine.
    Any ideas?
Try doing a memory clear just on copier application

I hope I'm not trying to teach my granny to suck eggs but you did remember to reset the ITB release lever so the belt is in full contact with the drum?

I got caught the other week.

            Sure did ..
Luckily(or unluckily) for me the fault was there prior to fitting the new pcdu...so it was an existing fault.
The customer never noticed it...I did.
Now that they've seen it...they can't unsee it

                Remember Ricoh mp2550?
Same issue after about 60K: kopie bad, print ok.
Only solution was to replace the PCU.
I think those Japs knows what they are doing to sell more PCDU's.
                No?

Replaced the complete PCDU and I DID notice that the scanned upload doesn't look as bad as it does first hand

If the copies are still bad you want to open the laser and clean the mirrors inside. Then run acc providing you have also cleaned the mirrors in the scanner

                          Just an update to this:
Went back to the machine for more testing and it's sorted itself out.
                          Copy quality is good now.
The only thing I did was run ACC for copy but they had previously copied jobs laying around the room and they looked fine as well.
Just a machine messing with my head...as usual

Just so I know, when you replaced them you set new unit in Process part of Service mode? then turned machine off and on, then did the rest etc

                              Yep...everything was done as usual.
Each time I fit a PCU or a PCDU I also run ACC....just one of those weird issues.

For me the 03 colors are not as dark/dense as the 02s.
I doubt the drums go but can see the developer breaking down and causing CQ issues..
