    MPC5503 Fusing sleeve belt unit - 400k?

    Hi !

I have using New Ori Fusing sleeve belt unit for quite sometimes,

But i encounter the Sleeve Belt ONLY sometimes only can use around 150k to 180k and the Heater still have no problem at all.

Look at the Service Manual Preventative Maintenance it only show that Fusing sleeve belt unit Replace 400k.

Is it really the Sleeve Belt only can last long untill 400k ? or include entire unit?

    Can anyone share some thought?

My customer are also using both Recycle Paper and New paper also due to cut cost.

    Thanks for advice.

OEM part or aftermarket? Use sh1t paper or exceed usage ratio equals less life.

We generally just change the sleeve after 300 - 400k and then change the Press Roller and bearings out after the 2nd maintenance cycle (800k) along with some of the gears that tend to lose teeth. Thermistors and all the other stuff seem to last quite a bit longer.

My sleeves normally go full life unless a user starts digging with a letter opener or something (then they $$$ buy the sleeve). I always replace sleeve unit, pressure roller, bearings and the 3 gears especially if they are the old style. Also grease them and the bearings and they (gears) last longer and don't turn into dust quite as easy. Never replaced a thermistor yet. They typically just have some toner on them and I clean it off.

I cleaned one of those themsitors one time, I just kinda scraped it with my finger nail. Then it didn't work anymore and I didn't have a spare. Lesson learned, don't clean it unless you have a new one to replace it with.

may I ask if this original post is replacing the sleeve "only" onto a used sleeve unit? I've personally replaced the sleeve unit, press roller and bearings, plus 3 gears and two thermistors. Are you guys really getting 750k on thermistors with no damage to the pressure roller?

750k should able to reach. But it depends your sleeve and sleeve unit.

if your sleeve and sleeve unit giving you a problem. Your thermister life spend will be shorted.
