New IMC series remote engineer app

    Good day gents

I have been told that there is a "remote engineer" app that can be enabled on the new IMC series, that allows something similar to Teamviewer, to assist the customer in remotely repair service issues.

Does anyone know how to enable this, as the field service guide is not much help.

    TIA.

It should already be on the device. If you press and hold the banner on top of the screen for five seconds it should kick into life. If it doesn't, go into the apps section of panel SP and set it to auto start. As for the PC side of it to access the machine remotely, I'm not sure where to get that from but it should be on my-ricoh.
It's 106 miles to Chicago. We've got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark and we're wearing sunglasses.

    Hit it.

You need an OPTIM ID to access the remoteconnect support enabled device.

Here's the link, OPTiM ID - Login

BTW, there are 2 features available for new SOP V2.

RemoteConnect Support and Remote Operation Panel.

RemoteConnect Support requires activating the app and of course the OPTIM ID.
I often ask the customer to grant me access to teamviewer, and from teamviewer I control the device using remote operation panel.

            Hi keithxxiii

Silly question - how does one obtain a login for OPTIM - is there a subscription charge or how does one register for the login?

This should come from Ricoh. If you are a partner, ask the guys from ricoh team.

It's called Remote Panel Operation and RemoteConnect Support? It's in SOP V2.5 integrated. I only have a german manual to activate it.
Doc page no 414 in met-mf3_fsm_en_final_141218.pdf.

In case it helps you, from WIM there is an option in the left menu to be able to connect remotely to the machine (see the panel and manage it).
The technician should first connect to your computer through teamviewer to be in your network.

On the Ricoh site, go to whatever model youre dealing with and find it under "special/custom firmware. I loaded it up on a c6004ex the other day to check it out. As far as a customer using this thing is a really bad idea, as you will see after you have dicked around with it for a bit. Its pretty cool, and it works. Fat fingers do not play well with this app.

Hi. Not sure that's the app I was thinking of. I'm talking about the one where you can do input/output checks on the screen from the app.
Not the one where you remote into the machine.
                        Cheers

It's called 'cesa' or something like that. I used it first at hardware training course and personally never used in the field. You can download it on my-ricoh.

It's called the Customer engineer tool-engine diagnosis, listed under special/custom firmware.

If by "the screen" you are referring to the operation panel, then ut us not an app. It is in the Service Program. SP 5803 INPUT Check and SP 5804 OUTPUT Check.
