Replaced a fuser film assembly that had previously blew a big hole in the film---shorted out and showed aSC544----replaced the film reset and started to test it out. jams sometimes with the leading edge just tucked in the fuser, sometimes rolled up under the fuser exit guide. when I pull the fuser forward to remove the paper you can here a weird clunk of pressure roller returning to home position. ANY IDEAS I think maybe rotation sensor failure, but I don't want to just start throwing parts at the machne. see some errors with this machine on some other treads Anyone else have any of these same fuser issues

Re: ricoh mpc 4502 Jams going into fuser
The Press roller drive gear may be slipping. There is a bulletin (number 21) that gives a new part number for that gear. AB014340. There is no serial number cut-in information but the bulletin is dated Feb of 2013. Also check the press roller lift cam operation. A new fuser unit will have a little resistance when you cam up the roller by hand.Comment

Check the brown stripper plate. Sometimes gets bent, or the ends get bent. The slightest difference in gap towards the center can cause the paper to catch, fold over, and wrap around the press roller. Damage to leading edge when it jams?OmertÃComment
