fyi if you run into this in the field. i had it happen the other day. spoke to ricoh and they said its a known issue ricoh japan has looked into. the recommended fix is spdf firmware and replace sep pad. i looked later and didn't find any service bulletins regarding it, nor did i find anything in the service manual. hopefully this saves someone from replacing parts that don't require being replaced.

Until Japan finishes looking into it, there will be no bulletin. Only internal documentation that the support center may have access to. If you are on good email terms with your regional support rep he/she might be able the send you something. -
