    Ricoh MP3054 media slot access

    Good Morning.

I am working on a Ricoh MP 3054. The customer cannot use their USB stick or SD card in the media slot on the operation panel. It says unrecognizable device.
If I go into user tools / settings / admin and go to 2 page the media slot use button is not there and I cannot find out how to insert it back in there so I can gain access to the media slots.

    Thanks.

Check the SP mode that relates to print from memory device in printer SP.

Also make sure you are using FAT32 file system. And of course, PDF document or JPEG/TIFF

Is there a login button when you go to user tools? Might have some admin. authentication enabled which is not allowing you to see it in user tools. Usually I thought it would just be grayed out in that case (could be wrong though).
Did you cycle the machine after toggling the setting in SP mode?

Make sure the USB is no larger than 32GB.

Also try inserting the USB pen after you have selected the USB option screen not before.

SP 1110 - Media Print Device Setting from Printer SP (to print from USB device)
SP 1013 - Scan to Media Device Setting from Scanner SP (to scan to USB device)
Do check SP5967 (Copy Server: Set Function) if the doc server is disabled.

It may just be the format of their media devices. I have 2 16gb Sandisk USB 3.0 sticks. One works perfect and the other is not recognized. I've reformatted it to NTFS, Fat32 and even tried to format it on Linux Mint (Changing MBR, Flags etc). It will not read on the copier. Works perfect on PC though.

It's been my experience that some BRANDS of USB drives don't work as well as others in copiers. If you're using Lexar, try SanDisk...or vice-versa.

Apparently you either did not read the original post or you lack the intelligence to understand it. Of it was a matter of the media device it would not cause "If I go into user tools / settings / admin and go to 2 page the media slot use button is not there." That can only be cause by a machine setting, either in SP, WIM or telenet access.
