I've seen this on older models with the door switches but not on this model. Has anyone run into this on a MPC4502?

Re: MPC 4502 intermittent power off then on
Can't say I've run into this.
Is it actually powering all the way down? I've seen some where they will make some noises after sitting for a long time, but not powering off.
I'd suspect PSU, or loosed connection of Power Cord.Omertà -
Re: MPC 4502 intermittent power off then on
Are you actually seeing it cycle power or are you basing your question on a large count of J001 being shown in the SMC report? J001 is usually caused by flaky jam cover switches on bridge units but can occur with any door switch. I had machines in an almond processing plant where there was a very fine almond dust that was non-conductive and would work its way into door and paper size switches.Comment

I had a jr. tech run a bridge unit out there and still shuts down so I am told. I did not see it happen. Machine is pretty dirty so I'm going to pick up and leave a loaner tomorrow. I will let you know what I find out. Thanks!Comment

Re: MPC 4502 intermittent power off then on
If you're unable to duplicate the issue, I'd bring a line voltage tester out to the site. I had one that was throwing flaky/random error codes, and it turned out their power outlet was sharing the circuit with an industrial sized shredder. Whenever the shredder kicked on, the line voltage would drop to 103 VAC. When it was off, the idling voltage sat around 112 VAC, which is a little low.
They had the power company come out and change the taps and the line voltage went to 126 VAC. It's worth looking into.Comment

Had a MPC3003 shut down like that the other day. Had problems before because the customer has a MPW6700 on the same outlet. Customer was suppose to have an electrician install a separate outlet however they dropped the ball and never did it. Weeks later machine starts shutting down randomly. Like Guitar said check line voltage and see if anything else is on the same electrical leg that may be pulling power.Comment

Re: MPC 4502 intermittent power off then on
NEMA 6-20
If so, that is by code a 20Amp, 250 Volt outlet.
The proper outlet required to be installed on all 20 Amp 125Volt circuits is NEMA 5-20.

Yup, this is the one. I checked the power outlet before I left. It was reading about 119v.Attached FilesComment

Re: MPC 4502 intermittent power off then on
Keep in mind that anything in line with the copier could be competing for voltage. If there is a refrigerator or anything else that pulls a decent amount of power this causes problems. I had an account with a similar problem blew all kinds of boards, finally found out it was a fridge on the other of the wall causing the problem.Comment

Can you connect to the Smart Power Conditioner to view and print the power history?Comment
