    Erase All Memory issue

We have a MP4054 that we are wiping for resale. Normally we use the erase all memory option in user tools to do this as it clears customer settings as well. The machine we have currently will not allow us to "erase" We can get in to the setting and pick which erase method we want, but it wont let us start the process. We have formatted the HDD, checked SP settings, and reset system settings. Has anyone run across this?

Are you logged in as admin? Is auto delete temporary jobs enabled?
It's 106 miles to Chicago. We've got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark and we're wearing sunglasses.

    Hit it.

I am logged in as admin, Auto delete temporary jobs is OFF. If I delete the temporary jobs, and/or turn it on there is no change.
I have also swapped out the HDD at this point.

Not sure if this helps, but I work for a end of lease resales, and we are required to do the 5832 in Sp mode to Format Drive before it can be resold to dealers. I am unfamiliar with the user tools wipe all memory. I am not a technician but a company trained tester, so I was just trying to shed light on what I know.

Also we have found that holding down F1 while the machine starts from a power down state can allow you access to items usually turned off.

What do you mean by "holding down F1"? Where is F1?

First button under the home key

Does the screen look like this?

I know this is for a different model, but should be similar. Some people map it "Copy" function.

Provided that it is a normal operation panel and not the SOP.

I tried holding F1, I saw no change, and was still unable to do the erase all data.
The service mode options work for basic purposes, the User Tool option does a secure erase and everything in one, slow, step.
