    MPC3504 HDD formatting message

    Hey guys...
I had a machine a few weeks back that threw up a message stating that due to an issue with the HDD it needed to be formatted.
It's at a power station and in heavy use so rather than format I replaced the HDD.
They had PCC installed so they had to reinstall it afterwards.
The machine was fine for 2 weeks and now the message is back despite having a new HDD.
Going back next week (machine is 2 hours away) and will try firmware.
    Anybody had anything like this?

I would try a solid state hard drive, they are only about $50.00 now on Amazon

Possible power problem? Does the machine have a smart power conditioner attached to it?

Check your ground to neutral. As I posted here before I had a 02 and 03 series color machine give this "error" at the same account on the same line. Using a "Sure Tester" I found 3 volts running on the line. It should be 0.5 or less.
BTW-a power conditioner is always a plus but does nothing for ground to neutral if you find this to be the case
After the 03 machine lease expired we sold the customer a Kyocera color (not a fan) and never had this problem again. I state this just in case if the customer throws back at you that they never had a issue with their old machine blab blab blab..you know the drill.

          Good luck

I have several that do this frequently. Each location has really nasty power. I got an electrician involved in a few and they found some wiring issues (ground to neutral too high) and they are resolved. Each one has a smart filter (ESP) and pulling the REPORT using my laptop shows the anomalies, that was my ammo to get electrician help from customer.

Oddly enough the machine resides IN A POWER STATION
The customer ended up cancelling the call before I could attend.
They have a STOOPID habit of re-logging the previous call description if they are calling me out to the same machine...lazy I.T.
They were having trouble re loading PCC and Globalscan back onto the machine...I,of course, just shrugged at him
