[CQ] Ricoh Aficio 2075SP ~ Printing Unwanted data on Word files & Config Page

Good day everyone,

Reaching out to get opinion of the source of unwanted data when printing Word files @ page 400 of a 1000 page job. Then after a new job is sent to printer all pages are clear until once again @ about page 400 to 700 the defective printing reappears.

I attached 3 files to have them reviewed.

After 4500 to 5000 printed pages I printed a Printer Config Page it also appeared on their. Does not occur when doing Copy Jobs.

I updated all firmware & even installed the BETA:

B140_printer_BETA Firmware_v1.05B 1221 2006

To correct Jeberish Printing, it did not correct the issue.

I would suspect HDD or Memory.

I have run into this before on this model and a few other models (3235C comes to mind).

I think we have gotten lucky a couple times in just Formatting the HDD, but ultimately came the time they had to be replaced.

If it was the laser unit, I think you would just get random lines, and not the "added text/ data".

DO NOT DO A MEMORY CLEAR "ALL" (5-801-001). Only do it for whatever function you are trying to resolve an issue for (i.e. Scanner, or NCS). In this case, I don't think you really need to do any kind of memory clear.

It's a memory overflow. The RAM on the machine is likely beginning to fail and can't clear itself so you get artifacts in jobs. Replacement may be difficult as this is a fifteen year old machine. Boards and electrical components that you can find will likely be used so it may be a better option to replace it with a newer machine if possible.

I have reformated the HDD as of yet but the issue has reappeared, so I am currently waiting for delivery of a new HDD from Hytech & I intend to clean the ram memory contacts & socket connecter on the print controller.

I will follow-up to share with everyone the out come of my efforts.

We are all capable of reading normally standard fonts, I guess...

The issue isn't the hard drive, it's the memory DIMM's. Cleaning them may get you by for a time, but likely they need to be replaced.

When I use to resell laptops and had memory stick issues I would clean the contacts with
a pencil erasure and the alcohol..............

Must be the RAM. And also try changing the settings of your printer driver to "start printing after last page is spooled"
