Ricoh MP5054 autoupdate firmware from internet possible?
Re: Ricoh MP5054 autoupdate firmware from internet possible?
That is one of the functions of @Remote. Of course you do have to be an authorized Ricoh dealer and have at least one employee with a login to the @Remote server inb order to put the MFP on @Remote.
Re: Ricoh MP5054 autoupdate firmware from internet possible?
The auto update function of MPxx04 and MPCxx04 and higher is actually independent of @Remote now. If you do not have the auto update setting enabled but are @Remote connected, the update via SP mode will work but when the auto update setting is enabled it should not matter if @Remote is enabled or not.
Check SP 5-886 and see what options show up. If there are only two options then you need a manual update of at least System and Engine (frankly do the initial update of all modules while you are at it). Afterwards there will be many more settings for auto update. This is a feature we are actively enabling in my region on service calls.
Re: Ricoh MP5054 autoupdate firmware from internet possible?
We have @remote enabled on most of our machines but I still cannot get my fellow techs to update the firmware using ARMS. Many techs just don't care about updating firmware. I think keeping the machines up to date prevents a lot of service calls.
