Ricoh firmware package .pkg "no valid data E24"

Downloading the package firmware mpc2004 via Firefox to downloads map on PC, is ok.
Than copy it to an SD card (2 Gbite), no problem...
But, after a while in the machine it gives error: "no valid data E24"
Having the same problem with package firmware form any other model.

Thanks in advance for your help

According to the machine it's an "SD card access error". Could be that card is duff. Is the panel in normal startup mode too?
It's 106 miles to Chicago. We've got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark and we're wearing sunglasses.

    Hit it.

SD card has been formatted and checkt for failures: is ok.
"start preparations for loading firmware" (translated from Dutch) appears on the touchscreen.
After wa while the error code appears.

Make sure you're downloading the RIGHT Firmware for the SD Card.... and does the machine have the "Smart Operation Panel" on it?

If you're using the "ALL" file and you keep getting an error, try downloading the individual firmware files, and the first time just install the "System/Copy" and "Engine" files in the romdata folder. After those files install, then put in the SD card with the other individual files and update the ones needed.

"package" is the foldername, not "romdata".
ASP for ASP DF's and SP for SP DF's ...
              Not ASP for SP.

guitar9199 was recommending that you use the individual firmware.

Slim: yes, i know. But it is solved. in stead of "romdata" "package" is the foldername and when it is a mpc2004SP, don't try with firmware mpc2004ASP....

I have been told in the past by Ricoh that repeated using an SD card for firmware on different models will result in the failure of the card.

What was used to format and "check" the SD card. Windows built in format tool does not always work for Ricoh firmware. Ricoh recommends the use of the Panasonic SD format utility.

As stated before...once you format your SD cards using the SD card formatter (find the link on Ricoh's TSRC page) most of these issues will go away. Ricoh's newer models are much pickier than the older ones were. Your card may work on other machines and for other applications and will even check out as problem free if tested.

I have also had good results using MiniTool Partition Wizard. It will also partition larger SD cards gown to a size usable on Ricoh.
