    MP305 SC-544

    Hello,

I'm a technician but I run Ricoh very little. Today a strange thing has happened: a customer has issued error SC-544 and immediately I thought of changing the fuser.

I insert the new fuser, I proceeded with the reset but at power on, the error remained.
I went back to the office, again with an MP305 that worked before, I plug in the customer's fuser and boom. I smell burning!

I immediately turned it all off. Ok, the problem is the customer's fuser but putting my fuser back, I proceed with the code reset, the C305 office printer now gives the same customer error.
I then retrieved the components from a third MP305. I have already replaced the component behind the fuser, the power supply board (1), Bicu (2) and the board with the peripherals (3). No success.

I don't know what else to replace. Any suggestions are appreciated!

SC544 - Heating roller thermopile overheat.

Did you go into service mode (SP Mode) to clear the error code and see if it comes to ready? If not, then you likely have a bad BICU board or a bad fusing control system.

Bix, logic tells me that your problem is in customer's machine fuser control board. It went bad and burns it's own and your fusers. When you put into your office machine burnt fusers machine normally coded fuser related error. I will get Service manual (assuming you don't have one) and start from schematics to troubleshoot fusing control, etc.

Good luck, we believe in you.

You have to fit a new fuser, read the manual.

I tried to replace the eprom and he seems to be the problem
moving it to a working machine returned the error
inserting a working eprom, the error disappears.
