    Ricoh Aficio 1232c - duplex

Single copy works fine. When I duplex I get print outs once or twice randomly, then the paper jams at B & Z for over 1 copy, then when I do a double side I get a Paper Jam again at B&Z.

Duplex paper jams happens near the paper registration sensor and near the fuser unit!

Tested the duplex unit on another ricoh aficio 1232c, the unit works fine, no paper jam when duplexing!

Replaced IO/Board, and all the 5 reg clutches. Adjusted paper augmented buckle, to no avail!

Any ideas what to look for:

I have also cleaned the reg sensors as well! Any other sensors I need to look at as it is still jamming when duplexing ?

      Timing!

Does it happen from all trays? If it does, try from bypass if you are able too. I think paper feed unit is the cause... Just a guess!

yes happens on all the paper trays! I do not have a bypass tray! And what parts do I check for in the paper feed unit?

I had the same problem years ago and I also worked some time around the final fix because simplex was no problem. In my case the fix was to change the reg and (upper) drive clutch.

Reg clutch is AX20 0224, Drive clutch is AX20 0239( There is two of them). Also the paper feed clutches are AX20 0224(Tray 1) and AX20 0240(Tray 2).

Please check your SMC report jam locations and see where your machine is registering these jams.It would tell you what sensors is registering the jams.
Have had problems with interchange unit sensors being dirty causing jams on duplex.

Check the interchange unit, sometimes the solenoids stick.
