Ricoh 4055ASP: Start new copy job while previous copy job is still running

    Hiya,

a client has asked me something I couldn't "fix" right away as I never really stumpled upon this. It's about starting a new copy job while the previous one is still printing out.

I replaced an 3053 with an 4055ASP. They start a copy with let's say 150 pages. The SPDF is scanning those pages really fast (and OK now after all the 4055ASP jam troubles with firmware and the new pad etc. ). When the scanning part is done and it's still getting printed out they want to start a new copy job right away with another let's say 100 pages. This doesn't work as the screen is kinda "locked" with the current copy job with no option to start a new one until the current one is finished.

As said I never really stumpled upon this problem but that company really needs this to work. It does work with the 3053 and a C2003 test machine just fine, this is also how I know this option.

I've spoken to ricoh tech and it was pointing a little into the direction of stacking/sadf, but I'm not really sure if this is the right way for me? I can't really believe that this is not possible and I guess I'm just overseeing an ultra obvious setting?

Do you have any idea if that's even possible and if yes, how?

    Thanks!

    Best Regards,
    Trommel

Zeldaman, thanks for your answer. I'm not in front of that machine or have a similar one here right now, but they use the standard copy app and not the quick/simple one there is as well. Is the classic copy app a different one and if yes, does it need to be installed or just enabled somehow?

EDIT: Ok, found the documention to this, so it's already there. Good to know, I never really had to use this before. Even though I'm still not sure if there's a way with the standard app, replacing it with a classic one would be no problem. I'm gonna try this. Thanks a lot!

I tried it today and it worked like this The start button is greyed and you get the button "new job".

I have replaced all apps with the classic ones so they have similar menus. This is not even bad as it's more similar to another ricoh machine they got.

Thanks again! This has been solved.

EDIT: Still makes me wonder why it's not possible with the standard app... sigh. But lesson learned

This is the reason why we always placed the classic on the home screen. A large percentage of new machines we sold were to existing customers who were updating.

Standard app was designed to be similar to competitor models.

I install the classic apps on all my kit customers find them much more user friendly
