IMC 2500 Fax - Problem

Hi folks,

i have a brand new IMC 2500 with a Fax - Option M037.

I new,that there are some problems not fixed by Ricoh within this Models and the Fax- Option together with
some Softwares.

Now,my maschine has no special software installed.
First i get a SC 672-21 which ist the Fax-Bug of the FW v2.22 or v2.23.

Now i installed the v 2.20.04 so Ricoh says it should be a solved Version until the Problem is fixed.

So,to send a Fax is no Problem.
When you receive a Fax,the Lamp flashed,the maschine is communicating - received the dokument but didnt printed it out ?


What i did:

- Factory reset of the Fax Unit
- Re-Programmed the Fax Unit
- Changed the Fax Unit
- Changed the PCB
- Changed the DRAMM
- Changed the HDD


In the status of the RX-Files the Job is visible as "Finished" but never printed out.The blue Telephone-LED is turnd on all the times.
To eliminate the hanging Fax-Job,i need to do the Factory Reset again.

Anybody has any Ideas ?

I found in my old notes the same issue that maybe your problem. It relates to a MP4001. Check that tray 1 is not overloaded

has the code 672 appeared suddenly during use or during installation? If the machine is under warranty, I will wait for replies from Ricoh.

[Attention] SC672-21 occurs when Fax is sent after package v2.22 or v2.23 is updated.

Dear Friends,

thanks for yor answers.
This is realy strange.I new there are problems with FaxModules ans some Apps or/and softwares like Paparcut etc.
The Paper Trays 1-4 are not equipted with too much paper.

I allready installed the Version 2.20.04 FW on the maschine,the SC 672 - 21 is gone,but the incomming Document is still
not printed out.

When i install the Fax-Unit on a different Maschine ( IMC 2000 ) then ( ! ) the stored FaxFiles will printed out ( ? ).

When i install instead a orginal M37 FaxUnit, a FaxUnit M19 ( from a MPC 2504ex ) on the IMC 2500 the exactly same problems happend.

Now,today is Monday,maybe a wonder will happen !!!!!!!

Is the machine in your company or at the customers site? Maybe someone has activated fax forwarding.

The Maschine is brand new and in our Company,where we test the Maschines with direct fax lines.

Hi Folks,

it looks like that the following procedere fixt the problem:


[User Tools -> ([Machine Features]) -> [System settings] -> [Administrator Tools] -> [Enhanced Print Volume Use Limitation] -> [Tracking Permission] to OFF


I dont no why,but i had a similar issue with a MPC 4504 who cames also with a SC 637 - 01,but without any Fax-Problems.

Now,after i adjusted the IMC 2500 and the stored Fax-Documents came out.

Its realy strange,i will test this maschine now for a couple of days.

Right now,it looks that the Problem is fixed.
