    MP9000 Firmware update problem

    Hi

In a Ricoh Mp 9000 i have installed a system copy firmware 6.03. but i did't install the engine firmware 5.19:20 or higher first.
Now when i turn on the machine the message is please wait
How do i reinstall the older system copy firmware?

The reason i put the system copy firmware 6.03 was to solve sc 990 991

Have you tried to boot the machine without the HDD connected?

I've had the same with a Aficio 3030 (HDD defective).

Hi, there is no turning back you´ll have to order the BCU board for the new pro series:
          D101 5220 PCB:BCU:Ass'y (Model C3.5)

this is the small board that fits into the io board, this board comes with the other firmware you need to boot up your machine, then just update the rest, LCDC, amimation and so on, all the firmware. remember that the LCDC firmware takes about 25 minutes to upload. From now on all firmware related to your machine is D101 XXXX for the new series, Your machine is now a Pro 906EX theres no turning back.

If you need any help contact me thru PM.

Just order the board and you´ll be back in business in 5 minutes.
          Hope this helps.

I know this is a little late but here is the TSB for updating firmware from the B234 to D101 series. I had one hang up even though it was done correctly. It took out BCU, Controller, NVRAM, System Card, and the Interface board.

                Hi Guys.
I have had this same problem and it is possible to recover from it.
You will need to get a system card from another working MP9000/1100/1350 that has not had the firmware updated to the new levels.
Swap it with the problem machines system card and then this will allow it to switch on - you can then update the engine. Next swap the cards back and then update the system to the new level.
Remember that you need to update EVERY bit of firmware to the latest level - if you don't then you get some weird things happen like hanging before going into SP mode and parts of the display missing.
It is very important to do the procedure in the correct way - Engine - System and all the rest after that. Now I always now do the 1st 2 one at a time and then the rest all together.

                      Problem solved

Today i went to the client with two solutions
                      1 SD-Card Copy (Model C3) B2345450
                      1 PCB:BCU:Ass'y (Model C3.5) D101 5220

The first attempt was made with the SD card on slot 1 and one SD containing the engine and system firmwares.
the machine give me a SC 8xx don't remember exactly.
My sd card was 2G formatted in fat but something didn't worked, so i used a SD card of 16M (fax address card) formatted in FAT and the latest engine firmware.
                      The upgrade was successfully.
I needed to upgrade all the rest of firmwares.

Problem solved, many tanks to all of you.

                          system SD card

                          Hi, the same problem

                          can I use for recovery a D101 5530 SD-Card:Copy:B-C3:Common (Model C3.5)

                          or only B234 5530 SD-Card Copy (Model C3)

this SD cards are the same, only containing a latest firmware ?

                          thank you
