Could also be a memory issue. Power the machine off, unplug it, and then turn the power button back on: this will flush out any residual charge left in the RAM and clear anything still in it. Also try re-seating the DIMMs. -

It's been a few years back, but I believe this used to occur on another model (I do not remember which one), and the fix was a HDD replacement.NEVER ASSUME ANYTHINGComment

That's the first thing I'd try too. My question is why has the poster apparently tried Nothing?!
Disconnect the drive and see if basic functionality is restored. If so, replace HDD as suggestedComment
