    c7200 Toner in C7100

Any one know if the toner for the C7200 series will work in the older models (C7100's)? I have heard you can use the C7100 toner in the C7200's, but I have not heard anything about using the C7200 in the C7100's. Just wondering if these are interchangeable at all, and if not if anyone knows what the difference is?

I am not sure we are talking about the same models. I am not talking about the aficio cl7100, and cl7200's. I am referring to the Pro 7100/7110/7110x, and the upgraded version of this model (Pro c7200/7210/7210x). This is the model with the 5th color (White, Clear, Neon Pink, Red, etc...).

I muck around with crossing over toners but have not done the c7100/c7200 series yet.
I always check are the drums the same?
developer and fuser unit about the same design.
Sometimes ricoh will add a tab or something to stp the toner from fitting and always change the toner chip so
it wont read a new cartridge...I d say if the 7200 is just a 7100 with updates it should be good..

Yes, I was referring to the old pos aficio color printers.

CMYK toners in c7200 are different and aren't backwards compatible. Special toners are the same as the C7100 series.

The Toner has a slightly larger colour gamut and there's a higher wax content.
Some of our customers prefer the output from the c7100 series rather than the c7200 because of the higher glossiness.

                          Hello there.

Sorry to revive this quasi-old thread, but this might be of interest for some of you (who don't already know about it):

Just found out today that the charge roller for the ProC7100 fits onto the ProC7200 right out of the box.

If anyone knows of any other parts with different part numbers that are interchangeable, please share!

                          Cheers!

ricoh probably buys charge rollers by the 100 thousand and it would make sense to cycle over some parts..
for them..for us it is always a money grab

But why use different part numbers when they look and act the same? Just to make people buy more of the stuff?
