Mp 3352 main motor continuous running

Hello,
I have an issue with my machine where the main motor will continuously run after main power is turned on. It stays on for about 5-10min before stopping. Machine won't print or copy, it stays on please wait. I have replaced BCU, IPU, Main Motor, and I've updated firmware. Any help or direction would be greatly appreciated.

Even after it stops "running" it stays on "Please Wait"? Does it ever give you a SC code?
When you hit the button to power it down, does it take a long time to power off? Does it code out when powering off? Do you have to pull the plug to get it to turn off?
I would be suspecting the controller board, since you've done BCU and IPU already.

After it stops "running" it remains on "please wait." No SC. Powering down works in a reasonable time and correctly. I was heading towards controller board as well but just wanted to see if this has happened to anyone before and required an abnormal fix.

Couple things to check and try;
Does it have a fax unit installed? - Make sure the fax board and the MBU on the fax board are seated properly.
Does it have a HDD installed? - If so, unplug the HDD and boot machine back up to see if it works normally.
If it has options like finisher and such, you can unplug those one at a time and reboot machine to see if it's one of them causing the machine to stall.
If all those check out good, then as I suggested before, go for the controller. (I'm willing to bet this is the fix).

no errors reported on the error log? or display?

i same holds true from the older units to now.. no ALL errors show on display but are recorded on SMB report

Yeah looks like the guts have covered the most common things to check. If this occurred to me this is what I would check:

1) enter the sp mode and check if any sc codes have been registered. Not all SC codes appear on screen.

2) remove fax unit and try

3) remove HDD and try

4) swop controller and try

5) remove sorter , adf, bridge unit and try.

Most likely 1 of those will bring up the fault. I had a similar problem in November and it was the HDD and controller that was faulty.

When I get continuous please wait I format hdd before thinking about changing any boards

Going through the motions slowly but surely. As of late yesterday the machine decided to show SC995-01. I've replaced and the BCU and checked the serial number which are both correct but machine still throwing code.

Had continues SC995 turned out to be faulty NVRAM, if you cant back it up you could try initiliaze but only after exhausted all other avenues

Just wanted to let anyone who is curious or reads this thread that I was unfortunately was never able to complete resolving this issue due to the customer purchasing a new machine with us. Thanks again for all the help.
