    sc 670-04 on a mpc300

    hi
I had a mpc3003 sitting in shop and on/sleep mode for the last 3 days and had it
turned on/off at least 6 times over the past 2 weeks.
And i went "wake it up" from sleep mode and the screen sat in the please wait and didnt show home screen.
After 4 mins I powered off and on reboot got sc 670-04.
Machine has all the latest FW and has been cleaned and run thru calibration.
I swapped power cord and restarted and it is back to normal.
Any meaning to the 04 at the end of 670 sc?
One reference in GG said reformat HDD?????????????

Second on the toner chip, or even PCU...i think "04" is yellow?

SC670 is an engine startup error.

A couple of times this procedure has helped me or a team mate.

If you are getting persistent and sometimes intermittent SC670 codes please try removing all the toner bottles then rebooting the device, if the fault clears please reinsert the bottles one by one until the error appears then adjusting/straightening the bottles ID chip or replacing the bottle before ordering any parts.

i swapped out all color chips and so far so good.
I started powering off my machines when i change toners.
Pop them in and power up...
Maybe it is not needed but I feel better doing it

I've had luck asking the customer what color toner was changed last and then replacing that toner again.

If you're Rebooting when replacing toner, it will be faster to reboot if you turn off Java, SP5730 to 0
