    IS the mp305+ any good?

    hi
i saw some odd units yesterday when picking up from my lease return warehouse.
    RICOH MP305 PLUS..
Are they worth moving or another headache design?
    thanks

I've had about ten units out for about a year now, running good so far. From what I read on the forums, a lot of guys don't like them. For me, so far so good.

I have a few of these and have worked on them some.

Very compact machine that looks like it would be difficult to dig into. Most of the issues I have run into involve curling paper and/or jamming. Doing the standard Ricoh black and white maneuver of turning the fuser temp down by 5 helps a lot. (IMO, I feel Ricoh black and whites over history run a little hot, so turning them down some doesn't hurt and they still fuse well, etc. It certainly helps with paper curl).

The feeder is very light weight and should likely be avoided by customers that want to do a lot of scanning.

It's more a machine that a customer wants, if they want to print/copy onto A3 but want a smaller desktop size machine. Welcome 305 +
I only have 2 out and haven't had any problems I don't think but that could be luck or because they are in low volume offices. I honestly couldn't say if they are good or bad yet.

In the training, it shows published life expectancy under 200K. They get put in places where people run much more than that on them.

That is a sales problem, The Product Support Guide says 2000 copies a month, at that rate the machine should last 8 years. Any machine place outside the Ricoh volume guidelines is going to have a shorter lifespan time wise.

                        Hey Andy.
PCU is actually rated at 60K
I can't really add anything else to the discussion.
I've only got one, and I use it at home right now
Like some others, I can't really talk about overall performance. Mine only has 7K on it.
I bought it because I liked the idea of a small footprint machine for someone that didn't have a huge need for 11"x 17" paper but wanted the ability from time to time, and also can scan ledger size paper.
Keep in mind it only runs ledger size from the bypass.
For the purpose it's designed for, it seems like a pretty solid little box to me

I didnt really even get a good look at the machine but thought the design looked modern and sleek.
DID you connect the SOP to your phone and if so was it easy?
I am starting to find it harder to get mpc401 machines which i would sell and service any day of the week.......

You mean with the Ricoh connector app?
Sure. Piece of cake to connect any device - even the old ones. I even have an SP C430 in my home office connected to the app.
I usually just add them manually with the search feature.

Honestly, for me phone/ tablet apps for printing are just a novelty - or at least only useful for someone that doesn't have access to a PC or laptop already connected to the device. They're way more tedious to use imo.
