    AF-3260 CQ

A thin black dotted line appears at top-about 25mm from top edge-of printed pages. Doing a "panic stop", i can see it is printed before fuser area and it happens in all modes: full color, monochrome etc...
I replaced ITB clean. blade, ITB scrapper blade, PTR clean. blade, PTR, but no effect. M/c is very clean with 200Kcp. PCU's are in good condition.
    Hands up!!!!
    Any experience please??

I would think the black PCU is picking up toner somewhere. Maybe in the Development Unit. Is the Charge Roller clean?

If this is like other ricohs the colour transfer rollers only lift when required or when a colour job is processed.if the job is black only then no colour parts are used.

try printing out a counter page, if the mark is there only once,25mm from the lead edgethen it cannot be from the drum.If the dotted line is in the scan direction and is edge to edge then toner is being put on the page from a source other than the laser ie the laser has not been instructed to write, if it is within the edge void then the laser is doing as it is directed and producing an image.the only thing that springs to mind is something to do with tranfer belt cleaning. Is the image correct other than the dotted line, no distortion or registration issues?

I agree that it is probably the charge roller. Here is TSB 18R which describes your issue and correction measures.
One thing I do on this model is to clean the charge rolls anytime I have the pcu units out. And make sure you replace them at their recommended cycle. Carry an extra one or two in your stock, also the lube bars for the cleaning brush being replaced on cycle will extend your drum life.

        Charge Unit: B132 2270
        Lube Bar: B132 3573

Relax! This firmware injection won't hurt...but it will take 45 minutes.

all the charge roller is the same, if you wanted to check if its the charge roller swop it with the yellow charge roller and if it disappears then it was the charge roller, replace the charge roller.
Get your facts first, and then you can distort them as much as you please.

I agree it could be the charge roller if the line was in the sub-scan direction, but it sounds like the line is in the scan direction from the description. A clearer description of the fault would help to arrive at a more certain diagnosis
