On the 3002 and older machines the generic toners available around here cause toner pump failures. Have no experience with newer models and compatible toners though.

DUDE IT IS A CRAP SHOOT..

IF you have a shop machine spike the black dev unit and see if doesnt give you crazy prints..
Two things with bad aftermarket the chemical formula is wrong and the powder is not fine and clean..
      Can wipe out drums..
      I would not chance it..

I think if you pop the top off and pour the toner thru a fine sieve you will see if it is clean/fine..

Customer: "The toner cost how much?! I can find these on amazon for a 1/4 of that price! That's outrageous!"

Me: "Oh i'm sorry, I forgot you were a copier tech...then go right ahead, my apologies for even considering charging you what we pay for toner, but first, let me just void our service agreement and prepare you an invoice for several thousands of dollars to send later for all the stuff that will need to be replaced...Good day."

I have had very few color machines use anything other than Ricoh OEM toner.

I can't think of any such customer who I have not handed a huge bill to cover what their toner did to the PCDU's and/or toner supply system.

I am not a fan of black and white machines using non OEM toner, but at least those seem to be workable in most cases. Color? It hasn't happen yet.

I know of only one after market toner manufacturer whose toner, developer, drums, etc are as good as Genuine Ricoh. In fact in some cases they are actually better. They also proudly put their name on their products. They are also just as expensive as Ricoh.
