Without going the firmware route there is scan to FTP, Scan to Email and Scan to the Document server of the copier.

^^^^ All free and great options or you can purchase a NAS device. This way the scans are being placed in a central place, you can control access to users and its not taking up space on your pc.
If it works, don't touch it.

If you had specified your city and state we could recommend a competent dealer to contact to have it done correctly. If you try to do it yourself and crater the C4502, it comes out of your pocket. If a dealer tech makes a mistake, the dealer has to make it right.YouTube

scan to ftp using fileszilla server is free and easy to setup if you don't get the firmware. Another option is to upgrade machine

Don't forget to search the forums relating to Filezilla as well.
I uploaded a how to-set up guide a while back.

Quick and easy FTP works great also. Not as robust but gets the job done.

true...I tend to use it for mom and pop businesses and even then as a last resort.

well thanks for all the ideas. i got the firmware and am going there today. if all else fails I will try ftp. supposedly the scan to email was set up but it doesnt work either. there are times I wish I could bill like the old mechanics sign.
$75 an hr to fix....125 if you watch.......250 if you tried to fix it first. I think I am the third tech and company on this.......

If the machines in question already have SMB v2/3 firmware loaded you might check a couple of things I have found recently. Two accounts that have scanning just stop had the same issues: Network discovery was turned off, and not by the customer, and sub folders of the scans folder had stopped their share (even though the scans folder indicated it was shared). Hope this helps someone.
