Service mode locked out (mp 6002)

How can I switch the service mode lock to OFF when there is fusing web error? I have to reset the cleaning web unit counter in SP 1902. I was unable to go to SP MODE because the administrator locked the SERVICE MODE. When I press the USER TOOLS--SYSTEM SETTINGS--the display goes back again to the fusing web error. I was not able to go to ADMINISTRATOR TOOLS to select SERVICE MODE LOCK.. Any ideas?

Try using WIM or with fuser pulled out.

I haven't heard of this. To clarify, are you saying that service lock can be bypassed by pulling the fuser out and THEN enter service mode?

OP needs to get into user tools to turn off service mode lock, but error will not allow it, maybe this will let him in.

I don't think Service Mode Lock can be turned off from WIM. All you need to do is power the 6002 on with the front door open to keep the engine from starting. It is not necessary to remove the fusing unit. If the 6002 has JAVA installed and enabled you will have to wait 5 to 10 minutes for JAVA to initialize before you can get into anything other than counters on User Tools.
