    MPC7500 Setup

I've just installed my 5th C7500 machine following the setup instructions to the letter - NONE of them has completed the setup properly. I read all the tech bulletins and talked to Ricoh support on several occasions - I've managed to get all of them working including the one that tried to invalidate all 4 toners and wanted me to change out the brand new developer to recover... (there is a way around that, but it ain't pretty)

Question 1: has anybody else had this kind of luck? I never had any problems with the older generation machines. I kinda like the developer bottle rather than having to disassemble the PCU's, but not if it's going to go like this.

Question 2: Is there anything anybody has discovered to make this work better.

Question 3: What IDIOT designs a system that intentionally destroys over $1000 worth of toner and developer if even the slightest thing goes wrong while setting the machine up, and are they still working for us? (O.K. there is a way to recover the "empty" toner and developer, but as I said: It ain't pretty)

    MPC7500 Add Toner Msg

I have set up a few of these machines and had the same pblm on 90% of them. Only thing is you dont see the message to change toner right away.

The way I got around it was to replace the toner at fault. (I don't think there is a way to avoid this, as the machine actually writes to the chip on the toner bottle).
    1. Follow Bulletin #37 to the letter except for replacing developer.
    2. Do the clear on SP3-817.
    3. Check Sp-315 (shld show "1111".)
    4. I then did SP3-811. (the manual says to do this only once, but as yet I haven't seen any toner concentration problems.)
    5. Check SP3-812 . (Shld show "1111").
    6. Check SP3-817 . (Shld show '0')

    Good Luck
Most of the time the operators need fixing, not the machine !!!

SP3401 allows you to reset the toner chip - just remember to reboot the machine after you set the counter.
