    sc 681-08 and then sc 681-39 on a mpc401sr

    hi
I just powered up a shop mpc401sr to inspect and earlier in the day came to ready and ran some test prints.
Now i recheck hours later to see how much toner it has and it codes out 1st 681-08 and then 681-39..
i swap out toner with a different and then it wont see yellow installed.
    EVENTUALLY IT POPS 681-39.
I check that -39 means yellow

can i vacuum inside or will static fry the RFID brd
how long would you think getting the rfid changed would be?
it has been a while since i gutted a mpc401

Replace toner bottle.RFID_CPU board and Harness: ANTENNA: Toner Supply.

Most likely toner the the contacts of the RFID as you suspect.

The best method is to use a can of compressed air combined with a vacuum to draw away the toner.

Remove all the toners, PCDUs & transfer unit, fuser first.

Then give the laser glass a good clean after all toner is cleaned up.

Could also be a duff chip on the bottle, seen that a hell of a lot of late, especially on MPC307's.
It's 106 miles to Chicago. We've got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark and we're wearing sunglasses.

      Hit it.

I've got a customer with about 300 MPC306/307's, I fought a machine with RFID error codes with 5 bottles of toner, the 6th one shut it up but the other 5 worked on other machines. Not a clue what the hell that was about.

When using a vacuum, static is generated by the toner as it is sucked into the tool you are using. Just keep it close to the frame and far enough away from any electronics so all static discharges to ground through the frame.
