[Misc] SR3210 Finisher not stapling properly Ricoh MPC4500

    Hi all,

Looking for some help here - got a SR3210 finisher that is having problems when stapling - staples aren't being punched through the entire paper set - staples are bent incorrectly (crooked staples) - and when it does seem to staple - the staples aren't being bent all the way down completely (if that makes sense) (one side of staple is upright)

Hard to describe without pictures I know forgive me! I am not able to get to the machine currently - and i only had a 1 hour window to look at the machine previously.

No error codes on the machine - staple cartridge been replaced - I've removed the staple unit from the machine - no obstructions - no missing springs etc, gears are good - everything looks normal. Cheating the front door and watching the staple unit in operation everything looks normal - although some sheets in the set looked like they didn't make it all the way down to the staple unit.

This model has a staple unit accessible from the front of the finisher - and removable - i thought easiest to replace the whole unit considering it is removable - but the contractor is sending me parts diagrams for the same model - but it appears to have a turning staple unit - so now I am completely confused

Has anybody had a similar issue? I've attached a field service manual for the model i require - staple unit on pages 45-47 - (One with the green staple cartridge in it)

ANY help would be very appreciated, as I've inherited this problem because nobody wants to do the job.

    Kind Regards
    Liam

Stapler could have died a quiet death, do you have one from another finisher you could try?
It's 106 miles to Chicago. We've got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark and we're wearing sunglasses.

          Hit it.

I never try to repair those staplers when the Jaws stop stapling properly. . Just get another, they are easy to replace.

Would someone be able to verify the part number for the staple unit in question>?

The pic I posted was huge but for some reason this site reduces images down so small!
