    ricoh 3004ex color scanning issue

I have a Ricoh 3004ex that seems to have a color scan to email issue. Scans black and white just fine and actually scans in color just fine too, but its limited to no more then 2 pages at the moment, at least for what he was trying to send. Have only troubleshot with customer over phone about this so far because their IT seems to have things on lock. By default the copier has a 2048 mb limit, which seems to be more than enough, but i'm thinking it may have something to do on the server end. Going to schedule some time to check out resolutions and stuff like that to check file size, but was curious if there would be anything else to check on the copier side of things. The only error we get when sending is a "transmission error". I also recommended creating a scan to folder for these bigger files, but that would be something their IT would have to create. Any Ideas would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

User Tools --> Machine Settings --> System Settings --> File Transfer --> "Max. Email Reception size" (Defaulted at 2MB, but can be set up to 50MB).
Also turn "Divide and send" Off. Machine Settings --> Scanner Settings --> Send Settings.
If those don't work, then you might be right about the email server reception limit, easy enough for their IT to change.

This Max Email Reception size setting has no affect when sending a scan.

Set the max SENDING limit from 2048MB to OFF.

frohn at 50 MB it will fail with larger documents. copier tech you have the correct location but not the correct solution. The 2 MB default is a left over from when almost all online email providers, like Yahoo, had a maximum attachment limit of 2 MB. That limit has now been increased. The limit now used by most is 25 MB. That limit is on the sending side, SMTP. If you have an in house Microsoft exchange server that limit can be changed by you IT. If you have larger documents that you need to send an easy solution is to scan them to folder and then use drop box or an email provider like gmail. With gmail if I need to send a file that is larger than 25MB gmail detects the size, stores the file in my Google drive and sends a link to the file.
