    c2800 lifetime PCDU

    Hello there.
At which counter is it advisable to replace developer (unit) or pcu in your experience?
PCU charge roller can meanwhile be cleaned and go for about 400K (or more)?
    Developer about 300K?
    Developer Unit 600K?
    Thank you for your answer.

These were a good old box. When I worked on then I would only change the PCU or Dev if the print quality suffered or it was dumping toner.

As you say clean/scrub the coating of the charge roller helps.

Very rarely needed to change the dev.

We only use genuine toner, so I would imagine if you are using compatible you'll be replacing these items BEFORE PM life.

If you go strictly by recommended maintenance schedules the numbers would be 120K for all PCU, 240K for developers and 480K for development units. My experience is that they will all go at least double that unless subjected to harsh environments including after market toners.

One thing that you can use as an indicator of PCU life is the lube bar. If there is less than 6mm remaining at either end it is time to consider replacing the PCU. Less than 3mm and you are going to have to clean charge roller more frequently.

We could squeeze about 200k out of the PCU's with a charge roller cleaning or two.
And we've seen those development units go the life of the machine and developer go to 600k!

you gotta scrape the coating off the charge roller when you get your first CQ issues and stay away from the soft cleaning charge roller, fragile.
I have seen 300 k on them, keep filters clean and if needed you can pull drum units apart if you dont want to modify for color vs k drum.
