    Ricoh mpc 4504 jamming

Only when you turn on the main power does this happen top paper drawer jams feeds the paper out about a inch once you clear the jam it works just fine. even after sleep mode it will never jam again. But if you turn the main power off and on It does the same thing. any ideals ?

I would try to switches OFF/ON with the first drawer opened, then close it when the machine is ready to see.

Sometimes it helps us help you if you post the jam code.

On the SMC is it reported jam in location 3 first paper feed or power on jam or something else. Did you get the same pb with the others trays?
Imagine it does the jam only on the first tray (for example) when you reset the jam it works all day then it's not command pb, it's not a power supply pb because the others trays are working. Can you swap the paperfeed unit with a tray witch is ok (don't know if there is a paper bank) or the motor witch run the paper feed.I mean we will have to do several thing before we find the pb.
Sorry for my english,it's been a long time i didn't practice.

Have you done a firmware update? I would start there.

Than it is a switch. How new - or how old - is this machine?

It sounds to me like paper feed is for some reason being energized during engine initialization or actually at power down. Try turning power on with the doors open.

About the idea door switches (oxidation on contacts) because "at power on" it would do it during the day.

I would think the power supply unit, because at power on , and it does the something with all trays, and only after switched ON.

Did I say check the door switches? NO I said power up with the doors open. If you power up with the doors open the engine will not start until you close the doors. It is a trouble shooting technique that has existed for decades.

The idea came from Mark Bbb, the post before yours; I didn't want to offense Mark Bbb or people like you who runs the website and the forum for many years,
helping thousand of people solving their pb on copiers.I'm not English native speaking do not see any idea left in behind, i'm only trying to express my self as clearly as i can.
