Lanier LD238C/Ricoh Aficio 2238C Opinions wanted please

I got this unit for free with extra toner. I really just needed the ARDF and network scanning but having a color laser duplex would be awesome. My question is this:
Would it be worth putting $200-$300 in this machine to make it functional. The ARDF refuses to scan anything more than a single sheet without jamming one-inch into the paper path. The separation or exit roller (I think) has/had foam rollers that have disintegrated. The transport roller is missing 2-3 of the rubbers. I believe the "platen sheet" is missing. I think that's it, just to get the ARDF functioning.
I need to replace 2-4 of the PCU/Drums and probably a 2-4 of the developers. It refuses to pull paper from Tray 1, but 2-4 seem fine.
Even if things went my way, which it won't. Would I have a decent machine for the parts I have to replace? Are the various rollers for the ARDF and the paper path still available?
Thanks for tolerating a noob's questions. I am not against just taking this to the scrap yard but I cannot afford a duplexing ADF scanning color laser from what I see available in the used market.

Sir, what you have was a boat anchor already some years ago. I wouldn't entertain the idea of spending dime one on that.

        +1 on the above comment.
That series came out in 2005.
We purged all the remaining machines in that series about 5 years ago.
Can't get parts for it (maybe aftermarket).

It was a great series that we used till 2014 at some places. If only it looked as good as it performed and no windows 8 scanning.

Had to pull the machines out and got stuck with the parts and toner lol

In my opinion, no (unless you fancy throwing money away). If I was given a machine like yours, I'd ponder between using it as a color A3 scanner (as you said) or sell it as scrap.

Actual launch date was January 26, 2004.

Machine is years beyond assured parts support date.

Your having extra toner is pointless if you don't have any replacements for the Fusing Oil Unit.

                This.

If it works, just use it until the quality is no longer acceptable and then just drop it.

When the counter for the oil unit reaches 0, it won't be a quality issue. It will be a stopped working issue.

If it's a door stop already, why not have fun and try pouring cooking oil inside, just to see what happens?

It is a counter that is only reset with a new oil supply unit. Any way cooking oil would only create a lot of smoke.

                            Memories...

I cut my teeth on those machines. They were easy to service, though it wouldn't take long to get line position errors.
