Good day to you all. I have observed that toner is leaking on the MP 5002. The toner is going on the slit glass of the laser and the machine ends up making faint copies one side. I have replaced the Seal:Toner Supply:Entrance:Upper (D009 2279) but the problem still persists. Has anyone ever experienced this issue. I have attached an image for your viewing. Thanks to those who may help.

Re: MP 5002SP Faint Copies and Toner Leak
I would say you have much more going on than just a toner leak.
Developer/toner is piled up at the rear of machine. Development unit might need an overhaul. Filters are probably clogged on the unit. Developer looks spent, needs refreshing.
Vacuum the hell out of the interior cavity. Don't forget those quenching lamps above the unit.OmertÃComment

Re: MP 5002SP Faint Copies and Toner Leak
Like I said, "Filters in development unit could be clogged" and allowing the dev./toner mix to spill out through whatever "opening" it can find.
If you replaced the Toner entrance seal on the PCU, then it could be the toner sled that is leaking. Vacuum that out really well and check the paddles on the inside of the Toner collar (bent = bad). Those toner sleds get packed with toner, and again, it will spill out through whatever little crack it can find.
Check the "toner recycling section" in PCU and make sure that's not packed too.
With those quenching lamps covered in toner, it won't properly charge the drum, and excess toner can be pulled onto drum and then "dust" the inside of the machine.OmertÃComment

Re: MP 5002SP Faint Copies and Toner Leak
Change developer... And remember to follow the correct procedure to initialize the developer.... Close the gap between toner bottle and development unit during the initialization....and remove it later

Re: MP 5002SP Faint Copies and Toner Leak
It is not leaking. The pressure that builds up inside the development unit is blowing it out through the missing or defective development filters that aer located on the top of the development unit.Comment
