    MP301 firmware update

Hi, I am looking for the firmware update for this printer.
Recently I updated the servers to 2019 version and now I cannot scan to a network folder.
According to the firmware notes I need a newer firmware version to be able to enable smbv2

    - Newly added SMBv2/v3 support. This firmware is dependent on the following firmware modules.
Please be sure to update all of them:
    System/Copy v3.24 (D1275780Y)
    Network Support v12.36.1 (D1275791P)
    Web Support v1.13 (D1275787P)
    Scanner v01.09 (D1275786H)
    OpePanel
    - Europe and China model: v1.24 (D1271491P)
    - North America, Asia, and Koria model: v1.04 (D1271498C)
And this are the firmware installed in the printer
    System/Copy 3.28 D1275801B
    Network Support 12.34 D1275791M
    Web Support 1.14 D1275787Q
    Scanner 01.09 D1275786H
    OpePanel 1.02 D1271498A
It looks like I only need Network Support and OpePanel.
    Thanks a lot in advance!

        Re: MP301 firmware update

I didn't know that firmware were protected by copyright and that cannot even be shared.
Still, I see a double standard in this forum.
I got 150 negative points for requesting the firmware but it seems the administrators doesn't have any problem if the users use this forum as a medium to sell them.

I want to give huge thanks to the person that helped me via PM, a great guy.

Ricoh and many other manufacturers consider firmware to be their intellectual property. Under the Forum Rules General Rule 5 states "Discussion of illegal activities such as software and music piracy and other intellectual property violations are not allowed."

Yes, I had already read the rules.
I just didn't know that firmware weren't allowed to be shared. I thougth the copyright only forbid to make mods or change them in any way.

I repeat, it seems firmware cannot be requested but they can be selled. Horrible double standard.

seems then you were never trained or studied the SM.. it CLEARLY states in there that it would be a copyright violation

I see your point and I don't know what arrangement(if any) copierfirmware.co.uk has in place with the manufacturers that allows him to be able to resell current version firmware but I'm sure that it's all legit and above board.
                Copier Tech?...over to you maybe?

If he did I would assume that he would also pay for banner advertising here on CTN. Just like Paul did with Just Manuals.

Scenario 1) If a client pays me to PM a printer & update the firmware there is no copyright issues.

Scenario 2) If a client pays me to PM the printer but I give them the firmware to update themselves there is also no copyright issues.

Sooooo everytime someone asks for firmware on these forums and you offer it....do you also drive to their copier in(for example) Bolivia and PM their copier?
Their might be a copyright issue if you're supplying firmware to people on here sight unseen?
Not being a dick about it just trying to understand how it works without the consent of the Manufacturers.

The engineer in Boliva would PM the machine & I would supply him with the firmware for example.

I think the problem here is that admins don't like people sharing the firmware for free or else they will loose their selling business.

We have only 1 ADMIN here... no moderators ... Copier Tech is just a plain user like you and I.

Aneurysm WROTE the forum rules.... FIRMWARE and MANUALS have ALWAYS been copyrighted material for the 31yrs I have been in the industry.

Copier Tech has made his position pretty clear... DO NOT post about what you don't know about.

this continued posting is going to earn you more RED CARDS if you continue acting like an entitled little twerp.

Being a tech of 10+ years (or so your profile states) you should know these facts... from now on post your need for files.. maybe some good hearted Tech will help you out. But with the collection of RED CARDS you have acquired... I guess I'm not the ONLY Tech here that finds your continued diatribe on this subject over the top.

                            and yes I threw one.

                            Either live with or leave.

Either you have had at least 50 other techs red card you or you are a flat out liar. It shows you as having 3 red cards. Even techs with over 100 in rep power such as myself and Phil B can only give 2 red or green cards at a time. We are also restricted from giving the same person another card for longer than this thread has been going.

If you want to get rid of those red cards you need to get rid of the attitude and start being a helper instead of a taker. A helper is someone who gives helpful sugestions to those having problems with a machine that you know how to fix.
