My money's on dirt cheap, crap recycled paper with a higher than recommended moisture content.

No B/S, I recently went to a customer where the fault description on an MP7500 was logged as "Copies coming out curly with a greenish tinge and machine smells of bleach"

They use probably the worst recycled crap I have ever seen. Ironically named "Purewhite" because it's anything but. The paper itself is an unhealthy looking shade of pale green, the moisture content is so high that you can see bleach scented steam rising from the distinctly corrugated pile of output in the proof tray and because it's so damn course it will devour a set of registration mylars in around 450-600k.

Plus the machine jams all the time (surprise surprise)

Everytime (every single damn time despite being told to buy better paper) I go they moan about the output being green and creased and it not being acceptable to mail out to their clients.
