I tried version 1.11 and followed the instructions to a T. I made a list of all of the shown PCI slots in the Device List. Upon starting the program I selected 4 slots and chose to include PCI Slot #4. This is where the onboard PCMCIA card reader/writer resides.

    An error then popped up:

Memory Card Explorer for Ricoh Version 1.11 has stopped working.

Had a quick scout around ebay, there's a few machines around the $1k mark that would do alright for what you need.

It's 106 miles to Chicago. We've got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark and we're wearing sunglasses.

      Hit it.

MCE required very old operating systems (yes, Windows 7 is just NT 6.3), but also required that the card adapter use memory blocks from a specific range. You'll be very lucky at this point to also find a laptop with a built-in PCMCIA reader that also meets the memory block assignments. Even an old ThinkPad T41 I have banging around in the shop wouldn't meet the expected memory range.

The laptop I used was a Compaq that I purchased on clearance at the PX on Fort Lewis Washington in October 2004.

Do you by chance remember what model Compaq laptop it is/was?
